Old Town Windows & Doors

This has been the worst experience I've ever had working with a company of any kind. They have been incompetent and misleading from start to finish. To start with, the sales person we worked with misrepresented our install date by THREE MONTHS. This after we had extensive discussions about how we could not work with them unless they were able to commit to a particular time frame for completion. None of the issues that warrant a delay per the contract even presented, and our salesperson admitted to simply "dropping the ball." He offered a concession for the delay, but no such concession was ever provided. The place has horrible communication, and can't seem to follow through on anything without hand holding and pushing. The contractor that handled measurements and installation was incredibly rude and unpleasant. Be warned that if you order a phantom screen door, it will not be installed with your door because that is handled entirely by a separate company, which nobody tells you until your doors are installed and you're wondering why your screen is missing. It then takes another several weeks on top of your months long delay for the separate company to schedule your screen installation. Then they show up and are unable to install the screen because Old Town Windows and Doors never told them you have a sliding door, so they don't have the proper parts for installation. I mean, truly unbelievable and incompetent service from start to finish, in every aspect of the job. Workmanship turned out fine, but also required constant supervision or else they would have been sloppy. We had to ask for improvements on very obviously lazy and shoddy work while they were here. The improvements were made, but only because we were here the entire time insisting that they fix their lazy work. Overall terrible experience, and I only give the one start because zero is not an option.
I have to agree with the only other review of this company - do yourself a favor and stay away. I only went with Old Town Windows b/c they are a Marvin Window dealer, and Marvin makes a good product. But between missed installation days, complete misrepresentation of the product they're selling due to either their incompetence or willfully misleading business practices (or both), mis-ordering of product, etc., I fully regret every having done business with them. I won't take the time (as the other reviewer did) to describe every detail of my misadventure, though I will certainly be doing that in my letter to Marvin Windows.
